(Once again, we welcome our Music Minister, Ron Orallo, as guest writer for this week’s Ponderings.)
We often forget the many things God has done in our lives. We forget the answered prayers, we forget the miracles, we forget who Christ is and what He has done for us. Why is that?
For me, after the Fall semester ended, I still worried over school because of my grades. I worried mainly because I didn’t want to lose my scholarship. My grades appeared one by one. I was so eager to know that I checked every day. Was that selfish? I don’t know. But is life all about school? Is it all about work? The money? The job? The acknowledgement? No, it is not. Do you remember what Christ has done for us?
These things do not determine who I am before God. They are important, however, but it is Christ who determines who I am before God. Christ came down from heaven. Christ humbled himself and became a lowly servant. Christ died on the cross for my sins. Christ was resurrected. Christ is returning again. It is Christ through whom all things were created and held together. It is Christ who saved us and not our own doing. It was all Christ.
Life is not all about us. Let’s not be selfish. In this New Year I pray that we would all remember Christ.
